Don’t Wait on the Market, Take Your Next Adventure
Don’t Wait on the Market, Take Your Next Adventure
Fall is finally here (even if it doesn’t quite feel like it yet in Bakersfield!), and with it the last quarter of 2021. As we all begin to ease our way into the end of the year, we’re taking this opportunity to catch you up on our Summer, and give you one last look at the real estate market. As we’ve all seen, this year has been absolutely wild in the housing market, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be budging anytime soon.

Glentzer Group Update
If you peaked in on us at any point this Summer, you would have found us either guiding our clients through the market, chipping away at our home remodel, taking our annual trip to Colorado with friends, John on the greens playing a round of golf, and you might even have noticed Katy sneaking away to Nashville for a few days to record her very first EP album. It was a great Summer, and now we’re looking forward to cooler weather and spending the holidays in our own home.
It’s safe to say that we’ve nearly finished phase one of our home remodel, the only thing we’re waiting on is our refrigerator, however we’re using an older one in the mean time. Parts and appliances have been backordered for both existing and new construction, and it’s been helpful to remain patient. So far we’ve painted the interior of our home, installed new hardwood flooring, updated the kitchen by knocking the bar out and giving it a more modern and open floor plan, updated backsplash and tile, and gave the hall bath an overhaul (it looks great by the way!). It’s been a labor of love, and one we’ve really enjoyed!
Coming up in phase two of our remodel, we’re thinking that we’ll create an outdoor sitting area with a fire place where John can sit and smoke his cigars, and our friends and family can visit during gatherings.
A quick little note for new and existing clients, you can reach Katy at katy@GlentzerGroup.com which is her primary email. We’re still happily partnered with Watson Realty, and in an effort to slim down our means of contact we’re now directing everyone to this email if you’re looking to reach Katy.
Market Recap
Interest rates have moved just a bit, however rates are still incredibly low. Buyers, this means that it’s a good time to buy! We’ve spoken to potential buyers that are considering if they should wait until the housing prices drop. In our professional opinion, we suggest you take advantage of the low interest rates and buy now. Locking in a low interest rate for 30 years means that even though many homes are selling above asking price, it all comes out in the wash when you consider how much you’ll save over time.

If you wait for market prices to drop, you’re only going to find that interest rates go up and you might not save as much as you hope. We’ve been keeping our ear to the ground, and it’s worthwhile to note that experts aren’t predicting the housing market to change any time soon. We’re encouraging all of our clients to take the step into their next adventure they’ve been dreaming about and not wait on the market.

Sellers, the market remains very competitive, and we are continuing to see multiple offers and homes selling above the list price. Experts are predicting that prices will continue to remain strong and we already know that inventory is low. If you’re considering listing your home to sell, now is the time! There are buyers waiting to place handsome offers on your home. Click here to read about preparing your Bakersfield home to sell.

Educator Discount
This year our daughter Dustin became a teacher (proud parent bragging moment!) and Katy had the opportunity to help her in the classroom. We saw just how much teachers do and we were blown away by the above and beyond effort that educators give their students. As our way of saying thank you for all of your dedication, from now until the end of 2021, we’re giving educators a discount when they work with us. Email Katy to learn more.
We’ve already had the privilege of guiding a teacher in her next adventure by selling her gorgeous Birch Creek home that is closing any day now. This home is complete with an entertainment room and spacious backyard, and the whole neighborhood is cozy and welcoming! Katy began the year by selling a home on Birch Creek, and now is ending the year on the same street. It’s funny how life happens.
Conclusion
We hope the end of 2021 is a time of connection and celebration for you and yours. When you’re ready to take the next step in buying or selling your home, shoot us an email and we’ll be with you every step of the way.
